The home is finished in bright and traditional white-painted clapboard and is surrounded by a comfortable shady property, suitable for small gatherings and including a small patio-pavilion and grill. A driveway that can accommodate two standard cars or trucks is immediately adjacent to the house, while on-street parking is available in front of the house on Stanhope Court. The canyons of the Gauley River, to the north, and Bluestone River, to the south likewise protect thousands of acres in southern West Virginia. Major attractions near Journey's End include the Grandview natural area, the Tamarack arts and convention center, and the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine at New River Park.
